Day At The K

Dear 6th Grade Parent/Guardian

The last day of school is quickly approaching
and we are still waiting to receive the refund
from the Kansas City Royals for our cancelled
field trip to Day at the K.  Due to the timing
of the end of school and students moving on to
7th grade we will deposit your child’s refund
into his/her lunch account once we receive the
money.  Your child will be receiving a refund
of $13 for the Royals ticket.  The other $7 was
for the t-shirt that your child received.  If you
do not want the $13 refund deposited into your
child’s lunch account then email Jim Watt at

wattj@smithville.k12.mo.us
with your name,
child’s name, address, and phone number.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you for your patience.

                                                          Thank you

Tdap Shot
A Tdap shot is required before 8th grade.  (This is a booster given after age ten.)
All 6th and 7th graders who have turned in their Tdap shot record were recently given
a Warrior Buck for their choice of Electronic Lunch or Eating Lunch Outside.  Anyone
else who turns in their Tdap record before the end of school will also get the reward!

8th Grade Celebration

8th Grade Celebration will be at the PAC at 12 pm on May 28th.

The 8th graders will walk up to the PAC around 11:50 after eating lunch provided by the Student Council.

Several staff members and students have worked on the DVD that will have pictures and information that the student wanted to share about themselves on each slide.  The presentation will last about 45-50 minutes.  At the conclusion of the presentation Dr. Papenfuhs will provide some parting words.

This presentation will be given to each student on a DVD at the end of the day on May 28th.

After the celebration, the 8th graders will have some fun activities until the end of the day.

Please feel free to join us for the celebration and if you would like, please feel free to volunteer for lunch and during the activities.
